The report
“Delays in court proceedings in Malta are no secret. In fact, Malta has been ranked among the worst-performing EU member states when it comes to the length of judicial proceedings.”
The report looks at homicide cases that occurred between 2010 and 2024 (inclusive), and the related legal proceedings. Presenting key findings, and a series of recommendations, the report argues that this is putting justice on hold and leaving families in limbo, and calls for immediate and decisive action to overhaul the existing system.
What role did viz play?
Data viz was used to convey dense information about the 50+ cases analysed. Colour was the main character of the visual language, doing the heavy lifting to convey messages quickly and clearly.
