“Yanika worked with Keert to help streamline our data flow from orders through to billing. All of our work runs through logistics planning software which captures data efficiently on exactly what got collected and delivered where and when. Our customers really value this traceability, and demand a high level of quality in everything we do.
It is really important that our billing matches what we do on the ground - previous to working with The Data Knitters, this was a time consuming manual process susceptible to errors that meant a lot of checking and double-checking for each client. Yanika was able to come in and quickly understand what we do, what data was available and what is important to our diverse client range - each with particular arrangements and different billing conditions.
As well as understanding the business quickly, Yanika was quick and precise in asking relevant questions and identifying some underlying data quality issues that contributed to the issues when working manually with the data. Yanika was also really open to feedback and willing to listen to challenges. The initial prototype for the automated system was delivered quickly and highlighted the steps required on our side to avoid data quality issues.
That prototype went through several iterations, each time tweaking and developing additional functionality in response to previously unconsidered complexity in the data setup. Each iteration was usable and added value over the manual method, and the final system delivered now fully automates everything ready for a final human check before invoicing is sent out to the customer.
