About Me

Data has infinite potential.

But just like a ball of yarn 🧶, data needs to be weaved and knitted together into insights.

It is a joy for me to work with data - an endless source of fascination.

I listen closely and work with you to understand your needs.

I work with rigour and pay attention to details.

The story so far

With a background in maths and statistics, I am a data analytics & communications expert with 14+ years of experience.

After a PhD in Synthetic Biology at University College London, I cut my teeth at the London office of Deloitte, working on projects in retail, food & beverage, telecoms, media and education.

At the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, a leading force in the movement toward a circular economic future, I doubled down on all things data analytics: from championing data and innovation, to increasing data literacy, developing the Foundation’s first data stack, business intelligence and data visualisation.

I’ve also been part of a team of women who sailed across the Atlantic with the not-for-profit organisation eXXpedition. An experience I will treasure forever, our mission was to gather data on microplastics to better understand how the density of microplastics varies across the ocean and at different ocean depths.

The Data Knitters

I set up The Data Knitters to help others utilise their data better, through the generation of insights AND the effective communication of these insights. After all, information can only go so far if it is not communicated in the right way.

As The Data Knitters, I’ve been involved in a wide-range of projects; setting up end-of-month reporting for charities, helping small businesses automate data process and saving them valuable time, writing data articles, transforming in-depth research reports into data visualisations for social-media campaigns, and guest lecturing at universities, to mention but a few.

My work has been featured on the Times of Malta, Malta’s leading newspaper, and published in The European Correspondent’s sold-out book Europe, Visualised.

Do I actually knit?

Yes. I really enjoy both knitting and sewing.
